25 Weeks Survey

How far along? 25 weeks down, 15 to go! (wow- that's kinda scary!)

Total weight gain/loss: lots- 20 lbs so far:/

Maternity clothes? Still in 'em. Don't see this changing. Ever.

Stretch marks? Yes, Brian lovingly pointed some out I hadn't noticed yet.

Sleep: Yes please!

Best moment this week: Sid getting antsy about the cat sleeping on my tummy. Not sure if he was trying to play or trying to kick Lucky off of my stomach.

Movement: Still mostly active when I'm going to bed. He's a night owl!

Food cravings: Edy's Strawberry fruit bars, Sonic Strawberry cream slush, strawberry jam, strawberries in general- but oddly, strawberry milk makes me want to gag.

Gender: Still a boy ( man, I gotta find a survey that mixes it up a bit!)

Labor Signs: Some BH, but they've gone away since I've been drinking over a 100oz of water a day.

Belly Button in or out? In and holding.

What I miss: Moving with ease.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery ready.

Weekly Wisdom: Drink as much water as humanly possible. Then have one more glass.

Milestones: Nothing new this week, but getting closer to the 3rd trimester.

25 Weeks

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Week 24 Survey

I did one of these a while back, but thought it would be fun to do one each week now that I'm starting to see (and feel) lots of changes:)

How far along? 24 Weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: Enough! I just stand backwards on the scale at the Dr's office now so I can't see.
Maternity clothes? still in 'em.
Stretch marks? Three huge ones right along my scar I got when I had my kidney removed.
Sleep: What is that?
Movement: Starting to feel stronger kicks. He plays soccer with my bladder every night around 10:00.
Food cravings: Strawberry anything.
Gender: Still a boy.
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? Still in.
What I miss: Lambic
What I am looking forward to: Lambic
Weekly Wisdom: I have none this week. I let Brian borrow it.
Milestones: Feeling Sid flipping around when he's trying to get comfy.

24 Weeks

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Painting for Sid's Room

I finally finished my first baby craft! It's a knock off of Pottery Barns Best Pal dog painting from PBK. I couldn't bring myself to pay $250 for it, so I pulled out my paints and went to town!

I didn't add the words from the backround- do you think I should, or should I leave it as is? (Link to PB's original under this pic)

23 Weeks

How your baby's growing:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.

Drumroll please!

We have settled on a name (finally!), so without further ado- Sidney Robert Dawson (Sid for short) will be making his big entrance early this fall!
