Painting for Sid's Room

I finally finished my first baby craft! It's a knock off of Pottery Barns Best Pal dog painting from PBK. I couldn't bring myself to pay $250 for it, so I pulled out my paints and went to town!

I didn't add the words from the backround- do you think I should, or should I leave it as is? (Link to PB's original under this pic)

23 Weeks

How your baby's growing:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.

Drumroll please!

We have settled on a name (finally!), so without further ado- Sidney Robert Dawson (Sid for short) will be making his big entrance early this fall!

22 Weeks

How your baby's growing:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Chaos, Confusion, Destruction. My job here is done. Kinda...

This weekend we started working on the nursery. Still piled with junk for the upcoming yard sale, but it's coming along. Here's the before pics-

And here is a progress pic.

And another.

The wood floors underneath are in fairly good shape, but in need of some work. Hopefully this coming weekend I'll be able to get the junk out of there and get some furniture moved out. But only after I finish my favorite job, pulling carpet staples.
22 weeks (sorry for the blur)

Another Countdown Ticker

I posted one of these a while back, but I noticed it gets buried pretty easily. So I made it to where it will always be on the front page, but down at the bottom. So when this one gets buried too, you'll know where to look:)
